Artikel: The Generalized Anxiety Disorder Screener (GAD‐7) and the anxiety module of the Hospital and Depression Scale (HADS‐A) as screening tools for generalized anxiety disorder among cancer patients (2018)

Objective: Anxiety in cancer patients may represent a normal psychological reaction. To detect patients with pathological levels, appropriate screeners with established cut‐offs are needed. Given that previous research is sparse, we investigated the diagnostic accuracy of 2 frequently used screening tools in detecting generalized anxiety disorder GAD).

Artikel: Assessment of the wish to hasten death in patients with advanced cancer: A comparison of 2 different approaches (2018)

Introduction: The Desire for Death Rating Scale (DDRS) and the short form of the Schedule of Attitudes toward Hastened Death (SAHD‐5) are different approaches to assessing the wish to hasten death (WTHD). Both have clinical threshold scores for identifying individuals with a meaningfully elevated WTHD. However, the agreement between the 2 measures and patient opinions about assessment of the WTHD are unknown.

Objectives: To compare the DDRS and SAHD‐5 and to analyze patient opinions about assessment of the WTHD.

Artikel: Sense of coherence is a predictor of survival: A prospective study in women treated for breast cancer (2018)

Objective: Sense of coherence (SOC) reflects a person's overall orientation to life. Sense of coherence guides the person in finding and utilizing resources to maintain
health and manage stress. Previously, we demonstrated SOC's stability over time among breast cancer (BC) patients, and in the present article, SOC's predictive value
for survival is tested.

Artikel: Psychiatric comorbidities among ovarian cancer survivors in South Korea: A nationwide population‐based, longitudinal study (2018)

Purpose: The aim of this time‐dependent study was to analyze the prevalence of mental disorders in ovarian cancer survivors using claims data in South Korea.

Materials and methods

We confirmed mental disorders in a nationwide cohort of 9763 patients who were diagnosed with ovarian cancer between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2014. We categorized the prevalence of mental disorders based on the age and the time of diagnosis.

Results

Artikel: Psychophysical well‐being profiles in patients before hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (2018)

Objectives: The literature offers very few in‐depth reports on the time directly before hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Also, researchers have focused on selected aspects of psychophysical well‐being and treated the sample as homogeneous.

Artikel: Thyroid cancer patients receiving an interdisciplinary team‐based care approach (ITCA‐ThyCa) appear to display better outcomes: Program evaluation results indicating a need for further integrated care and support (2018)

Background: Thyroid cancer (ThyCa) is generally associated with a favorable prognosis and excellent surgical outcomes. Consequently, its treatment is medically focused and current guidelines recommend interdisciplinary care including access to a nurse for complex cases alone. To date, no studies have evaluated the need for and impact of an Interdisciplinary Team‐based Care Approach (ITCA‐ThyCa) for general thyroid cancer patients, including a dedicated nurse as part of a larger interdisciplinary team, as well as patient‐reported outcomes, as is recommended worldwide in cancer care.

Artikel: Physicians' emotion regulation during communication with advanced cancer patients (2018)

Objective: In cancer care, optimal communication between patients and their physicians is, among other things, dependent on physicians' emotion regulation, which might be related to physicians' as well as patients' characteristics. In this study, we investigated physicians' emotion regulation during communication with advanced cancer patients, in relation to physicians' (stress, training, and alexithymia) and patients' (sadness, anxiety, and alexithymia) characteristics.
