To develop and pretest an European Organization for the Research and Treatment of Cancer Sexual Health Questionnaire (EORTC SHQ-22) for the assessment of physical, psychological, and social aspects of sexual health (SH) in male and female cancer patients and survivors. Questionnaire construction started with creating a list of relevant SH issues based on a comprehensive literature review. Issues were subsequently evaluated for relevance and prioritization by 78 healthcare professionals (HCP) and 107 patients from 12 countries during in-depth interviews (phase 1).
De tweede uitgave van de jaarindex door het CHi is opnieuw een indrukwekkende weerspiegeling van het psychosociaal oncologisch onderzoek in Vlaanderen en Brussel. Het bevestigt het hoge en kwaliteitsvolle wetenschappelijk niveau van iedereen die hieraan heeft bijgedragen. De jaarindex hoopt hierdoor ook inspirerend te werken.

This cohort study examined the impact of cancer on sexual function and intimate relationships in adolescents and young adults (AYAs). We also explored factors predicting an increased likelihood that cancer had negatively affected these outcomes.
Kankerpatiënten blijven ook na hun behandeling kampen met pijn, extreme vermoeidheid, concentratie- en geheugenproblemen, incontinentie, seksuele problemen, angst en depressieve gevoelens. Hun leven opnieuw oppikken op professioneel vlak of binnen het gezin, gaat tot jaren na hun behandeling moeilijker dan verwacht.
