Gesprekken over afscheid en verlies, over ziek zijn en zorg, over sterven en daarna… Het past in de tendens het levenseinde bespreekbaar te maken om de kwaliteit van zorg en afscheid nemen te vergroten. Het spel 'Praatstenen' is zo laagdrempelig dat ze helpen om verhalen over afscheid en verlies te delen.
Objective: African American (AA) cancer survivors report poorer self-rated health (SRH) compared to other racial/ethnic groups. Spirituality is often linked to positive health outcomes, with AAs reporting greater levels of spirituality. This study examined the potential mediating role of cancerrelated problems in the relationship between spirituality and SRH among AA cancer survivors compared to non-African American (non-AA) survivors.
Background: Demoralization is a syndrome of existential distress that occurs in a substantial minority of cancer patients and is associated with a higher number of physical problems. Loss of dignity refers to a range of specific existential concerns. This study examines whether the association between number of physical problems and demoralization is mediated by loss of dignity.
